Ordering keys and fobs

What keys and fobs are for

Tenants and leaseholders need a key or fob to access: 

  • communal entry doors or gates 
  • bin storage
  • some estate parking 
  • sheds and garages

Front door keys

You’re responsible for your front door key. If you lose it, you can find a locksmith yourself or use our recharge service. 

Our charges are: 

  • forced entry and change lock on front door: £115.97  
  • renew cylinder lock: £47.04  
  • renew mortice lock: £40.58  

You can request a new key by WhatsApp or SMS on 07360 277 909.  

Communal entry doors or gates

To get a replacement key or fob for a communal entrance or bin store, call 020 7974 4444. We’re available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (excluding bank holidays). There is no out-of-hours service.

Ordering extra keys and fobs 

New tenants receive 3 keys or fobs for the communal entry door as part of the sign-up process.

If you need to order more keys or fobs, you’ll need to pay. You can order them by calling us on 020 7974 4444.  

If your key or fob is stolen

You should report a stolen key or fob to the police to get a crime reference number (CAD). Include this when you email  [email protected] to request a replacement.

If your fob stops working  

If your fob stops working within 6 months of receiving it, email [email protected]to report it.  You should return black pre-programmed keys to:

Charges for communal fobs

Charges for replacement fobs start at £10. In some cases, fobs may cost more so we'll let you know when we speak to you. We take payment as part of the call. 

In some cases, we do not charge for replacement fobs. These include: 

  • bin fobs which are free unless you are ordering an extra one 
  • communal access fobs which are free if you are receiving a full care package 

Estate parking

The Estate Parking service manages key and fob requests for estate parking. To request a replacement key or fob, email [email protected].   

Our charges are:

  • £100 for a replacement Gerda key, which is for outside gate access 
  • £50 deposit if a contractor needs access to estate parking, you’ll need to email us at least 5 working days before they’re due to start.

If your estate parking key or fob is not working

Contact us if your key or fob is not working. We’ll need to order a replacement. 

Shed and garage keys

The Repairs service manages key requests for sheds and garages. 

If you've lost your key, call 020 7974 4444 if it’s an emergency and ask for repairs. Otherwise, contact us by WhatsApp or SMS on 07360 277 909

Charges are as follows: 

  • Force entry to garage: £62.36 
  • Renew lock on up and over garage door: £85.44 
  • Renew lock on side-hung garage door: £29.38 
  • Forced entry to shed: £106.60 
  • Broken lock on shed: £29.57 

If your key is stolen, report it to the police. They’ll give you a crime reference number (CAD). Include this when you contact us. There’s no charge to replace stolen keys. 

Charges for postage or collection

In all cases, our charges for administration and postage are: 

  • £1.70 for first class delivery, we cannot refund for any losses 
  • £2.50 for recorded delivery 
  • £3 for collection 

Collecting keys and fobs

If you would rather collect your key or fob, we will contact you when it’s ready. 

You’ll need to bring photo ID with you like a driving licence or passport to:

Returning keys and fobs

It’s important to return your keys and fobs when you move out of your home or if you decide to stop renting a parking space, shed or garage. If you do not, we’ll continue to charge you rent. 

You should hand your keys and fobs to your Neighbourhood Housing Officer or return them to reception at our 5 Pancras Square office.
